What Disaster Recovery Plan? Tina Amper, Blue Sky Solutions / ADIC and Greg Nunes, ADIC What if power went down or your facilities are flooded? How well can your organization handle and survive a disaster or business interruption? Best practices for business continuity and disaster recovery management are discussed in this talk. Nagios Monitoring and GroundWork Open Source Solutions Nagios is an open source network monitoring tool; however, it has its bumps. We’ll talk about how to begin using Nagios in your monitoring environment and how to avoid some of the pitfalls during implementation. Also, we’ll go over 3rd party tools used to work alongside Nagios. We’ll also showcase some of the work Groundwork has done to enhance open source monitoring tools and how you can start using them immediately. Free food and drink (probably pizza and soda) will be provided by GroundWork. Taylor Dondich, Senior Developer, GroundWork Open Source Solutions Inc. Previously working in the enterprise network engineering market, Taylor is now a senior developer at Groundwork Open Source Solutions, a provider of open source IT Operations Management software and services. He is in charge of many of the main web technologies being developed, including Guava. He has also developed Fruity and Status Viewer, enterprise level additions to the Nagios monitoring platform. Taylor’s primary focus is in building dynamic web applications leveraging Web 2.0 technologies. | ||

Ed’s talk will be a discussion of the regulatory drivers and best practices approach to safeguarding customer data in your network and what to do should you suffer a breach.
Ed Hudson from Decru/NetApp Ed Hudson is a Senior Manager with Decru’s Field Engineering Group. He has been with Decru since 2006, and as Sr. Manager he assists customers in defining project requirements and scope, allocating appropriate resources, and managing overall project costs. He is accountable for the overall results in meeting project objectives and for ensuring a high quality engagement with Decru customers. Ed’s particular area of expertise is the forensic examination of compromised computer systems and networks and he holds advanced certifications in computer forensics. Ed spent 15 years as a police officer, detective and investigations supervisor with agencies on both the East and West Coasts. He has testified as an expert regarding computer evidence in California Superior Courts and was a founding member of the Northern California High Tech Crimes Task Force. | ||
