Drupal is a free software package that allows an individual or a community of users to easily publish, manage and organize a wide variety of content on a website. AKA, an “open source content management system.” Tens of thousands of people and organizations have used Drupal to power web sites, including SoCoSA.org. It works on a variety of platforms including Unix and Windows.

Steven is the Drupal project’s Documentation Team Lead, one of the leaders of the Drupal Association, a user of Drupal since 2003, and a fellow System Administrator.

Steven will cover such topics as:

  • What Drupal is and why you might want to use it.
  • Setting up a Drupal site
  • Administration
  • Upgrading
  • installing modules
  • Picking the right modules so that upgrading or migrating are easy
  • theming your drupal site
  • letting your users create and edit content
